Jillian Noel Shennessy, born 25th November 1968 in Canada, is a Canadian actor and singer who has been recognized for her significant contribution for American television. She is renowned for her stellar performances in the American television show Law & Order where she impressed viewers for three seasons as the prosecutor Claire Kincaid and Crossing Jordan in which she played protagonist Jordan Cavanaugh for six seasons. Hennessy has also demonstrated her talent as an actor through films like RoboCop 3 Most Wanted and the independent films Chutney Popcorn and The Acting Class in which she worked on her scriptwriting and co-directing muscles. Hennessy started her acting career alongside her sister in 1988 playing two call-girls in Dead Ringers. The actress starred on Broadway as a part of the show Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story from 1990, and then entered the realm of sci-fi in 1993 as Dr. Marie Lazarus in RoboCop 3. The following fall year, she joined the cast for the NBC popular crime-drama Law & Order in the role as assistant district prosecutor Claire Kincaid. Three seasons of her part was an instant hit with viewers. The show ended in 1996.
