Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist, is also an author. She's co-founder and CEO of Thrive Global, as well as the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a TV host, journalist, philanthropist and author for more than ten years. Her role also includes being the owner of The Huffington Post, an independently-liberal online newsmagazine. Originating from Greece she relocated to England when she was sixteen and then graduated from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. Being the first non-English-speaking student to graduate, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. In the years following her graduation, she became an influential right-wing syndicated reporter. A few more years later, she founded The Huffington Post which featured criticism of the present political landscape. Her celebrity status helped her in getting several high-profile contributors to publish their thoughts about news from the world of politics and culture. Arianna was famous in 2003 when she ran as an independent in the California recall elections to replace Governor Davis. In addition to this she was the leader of the Detroit Project for fuel-efficient cars. In 2009 she was named by Forbes as one of the top women in the media, achieving 12th position in the list and in the same year, the Guardian listed her on the top 100 media list. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post, and she was made the president of this group. The acquisition included a number of AOL products at that time, including Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. Elli was the son of Konstantinos, a management and journalism consultant. Her life was shaped by the closeness she had to her mother and her bond with her father, despite her being very close to the latter. Even in her formative age she demonstrated the leadership abilities and is a household name. at the age of 16 she relocated into the United Kingdom to pursue her studies and enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. In her time at college, she joined the debating Society Cambridge Union where she became the third foreign, and first female president. In 1972, she earned the degree of Master in Economics. Following her degree she became a columnist, critic and a host on TV. Also, she appeared on an edition of Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books with editorial assistance from Bernard Levin.
